Ibn Altheeb  2 year old (28th April 2023) Gelding by 1st season stallion Alkumait and out of the well bred 1M 2F winner Mixora By MizzenMast (USA)

We have purchased Ibn Altheeb at the Newmarket Tattersalls sales! His debut at Beverley was a good 2nd when running green. The other horses in that race have boosted the form since. The winner Command The Stars is now rated 96, the 3rd has came out and won twice since and 4th has since won and now rated 82. 

With pieces added Ibn Altheeb hacked up at Wolverhampton over the extended mile early in October, with nice horse Vintage Heat behind him in 2nd. We were told that they expected plenty of improvement after the win, but also reported that they shouldn’t have run him at Pontefract later in October because of heavy ground. He’s also had 2 nice 3rd place runs at Wolverhampton over 7 (Finishing strong) and over a mile at Beverley. He is very consistent, and is sure to be a better horse next year. 

He is also well bred, by first season Stallion Alkumait (GB). A 113 rated, fastest ever winner of the Group 2 Mill Reef stakes and half-brother to Guineas and Dewhurst winner Chaldean. He is also very well bred himself by Showcasing (GB) and out of Suelita (GB). The Dam Mixora (USA) has a lot of stamina in her family and won over a Mile 2 at Redcar herself. 

We are over the moon that we managed to buy a 72 rated grey 2 year old winner with plenty of scope for just 20,000 Gns. He is a fantastic purchase that could be anything going forward. Yet again, a massive thanks to Ted Durcan for buying him for us and we are happy to report that he will be trained by Iain Jardine.

The upfront fees include Transport to the Iain 

Jardine Stable , Bloodstock Agents fee and all other expenses up until the 31st of January. The 1st training fees will not be until the 1st of March for February training.

FEAR AND FAST 3 Year Gelding by Massaat out of Mafair Lady

Fear And Fast is another very exciting purchase for LBL and a massive thank to Ted Durcan again for securing a horse that Ted was very excited before that the hammer went down and he thinks that Jim Goldie and his team will improve him a lot going forward. He thought we would have to pay 15 to 20,000 Gns and describes the 10,000 Gns
purchase as outstanding value.

Fear And Fast is a 5F sprinter that stays the trip well and goes on anything up to soft ground. He's only rated 59 and we are keen to race him a few times before  of the turf season to give him the chance to take advantage of that handicap mark.

He has run many good races for his previous trainer without winning and his full brother 2 year old  Davvy has won 2 races for David Evans.

 Federal Envoy  - 4 year old Gelding By Bated Breath. Trained by  Iain Jardine Racing Ltd.   Federal Envoy is one of the most exciting purchases we have made for  years and a massive thanks goes to Ted Durcan,  our agent who told us to  buy our 3 year old winning gelding. He was a 100,000 Euro yearling that  won first time out on the 14th of March this year. He was well backed  and beat Jayyash who has won and been placed many times since. He had  excuses for his next 3 starts and  was then a very close 5th and  beaten  less than 1 and a half lengths at Leicester on the 6th of July.  He is  currently rated 72 (was 76) and we rate him well handicapped because   the 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 6th and 7th from Leicester have boosted the form  since by either winning or being placed. He won 2 races from his first 3 in 2025 including at £20,000 7F handicap on Winter Derby Day, We are all very excited about him. 

We expect him to be a high level handicapper on the all weather and turf.

After three impressive wins  at Hamilton twice and Haydock in 2024. 2025  never went to plan and he is now rated 72  but we hope that after a break he will come back to top form in 2026. His 1st 2 starts for 2025 were  fine but he lost his form after these runs.

Spanish Hustle has now won 8 races for us and he has improved again this turf season. He won our first Sunday series race at Hamilton on the 15th of June and his win at Hamilton on the 18th of July was all down to Kaiya Fraser and his brilliant tactics. He has a lot more improvement to come and we are excited about him going forward.

He is an ideal horse for big handicaps because the stronger the gallop the better he will be. The 2025 turf season was amazing so far with 2 wins and many places.  We are now looking forward to 2026

with him.

This turf season Crystal Guard has shown a lot of improvement and he has run brilliant races including an impressive win at Musselburgh

IGNAC LAMAR  -   6.25% Available

We are pleased to offer shares in dual winner IGNAC LAMAR, a 5-year-old gelding by the high-class sprinter, DANDY MAN. IGNAC LAMAR  cost 35,000gns as a yearling and comes from a superb family.

His mother Bratislava has bred 10 winners from 12 foals including horses rated 100 plus.

I talked at length with Rod Millman and he told me everything we need to know about him to help us going forward and what he has done up to now.

He has won two races on the sand at Southwell and Wolverhampton over 6 furlongs and went close to winning a strong 7 furlong handicap at Kempton. On his penultimate run he ran a cracker at Leicester over 7 furlongs to finish a solid 3rd and had trouble at the start of the race.

He matched strides with top class horses in maidens and handicaps. Rod said that he has never seen the vet or missed a day's work and is well handicapped. Ted Durcan who helped us out at the sales loved our horse. Jim Goldie is brilliant with sprinters and improvement is expected.
