Based in Hetlandhill, Carrutherstown near Dumfries in Scotland. Iain has incredible training facilities including a 6 furlong all weather gallop with a gradual incline, a 1 mile circular grass gallop, 2 furlong all weather schooling lane, among many other top class facilities.
His experience as a jockey has helped him greatly in his training career. He has trained many big winners, most notably Nakeeta, who won the Ebor at York in 2017. Iain also has a great team of staff around him, to help deliver the highest quality of training for each and every horse in the stable.
Iain has done a fantastic job with our horses over the past few years and we are excited to keep working with him going forward.
Rebecca Bastiman Racing is a small friendly-run yard in the heart of Yorkshire, in a small peaceful village, not far from the A1. They have trained a Group 1 horse to success and have a fantastic set of facilities including a variety of gallops, starting stalls and turn out paddocks.
Since taking up her training licence in 2015, Rebecca has trained over 90 winners. All horses in the stable receive top quality care and training from their dedicated team.
Rebecca has trained plenty of winners for us over the past few years as she continues to work well for our syndicate.
Phil was an outstanding jockey, riding 951 winners in his career, before taking his trainers licence in 2019. He has already racked up 15 winners and over 50 places in his first 12 months as a trainer.
He has a wealth of top quality facilities at his impressive yard in Easingwold, North Yorkshire. We are confident that he will become a top class trainer in the years to come.
Given the fact that during his riding career Phil rode many winners for us, we have a great working relationship with him and we have trust in his judgement.
George together with his wife Candida have grown the business together over the past 8 years. The decision to take out a Licence to train racehorses in 2008 saw a massive sea change in both their lives. Their passion for the sport of horseracing, and their desire to see the business succeed at the highest level, has been a potent mix. By surrounding themselves with some exceptionally talented people, George and Candida have seen the business grow and flourish in recent times.
They are based at Robins Farm, which is a state of the art training facility situated in beautiful countryside on the Surrey – West Sussex border.
Fun will always be a priority for anyone who has a horse with Chris and Jenny Gordon, but don’t assume that this makes the pair any less ambitious. While only one name is allowed on the trainer’s licence, this is very much a partnership, and both are fiercely competitive, as they have been throughout long careers with horses.
The chance to rent an established thoroughbred training base with the scope to initially allow also for training point-to-pointers came up in 2007 when Brendan Powell vacated Morestead Farm Stables in Winchester. The opportunity was grabbed with both hands. They now own the property.
